Another (It’s Warmer, but Windy) Viewpoint

View of Davis Library's grounds around 2:40 PM Friday 2.21.14

We’re finishing out yet another week of the Spring Semester here at the University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College and want to remind everyone that Davis Library is back to its regular hours.

Consequently, we will be OPEN this weekend…

  • 1-5 PM on Saturday (2/22)
  • 5-9 PM on Sunday (2/23)

Also, we want to highlight our latest video tutorial, which demonstrates how to modify settings in Google Scholar to show links to full text available in OhioLINK Research Databases.

While we highly recommend that Rio Grande students, faculty and staff search the OhioLINK resources directly, we understand some people still like to utilize the popular search engine when doing their research.

Unfortunately, many of the scholarly articles found via Google Scholar are not freely available.  Publisher Websites will often charger $30-40 (or more!) per article to download them online.

OhioLINK (Ohio Library and Information Network) is a resource sharing consortium made up of several academic libraries in Ohio.  The State Library of Ohio is also actively participates in the group.  These libraries work together ensure library materials and other valuable information sources are readily available to the Ohio’s higher education community.

At any rate, we want to remind you know that much of the information you seek is accessible at a price you can affordable through the variety of services we provide at Davis Library.  Because even if the full text of an article you want is not available via OhioLINK, we do offer traditional Interlibrary Loan (ILL) services which offers you another means of finding and borrowing resources.

If you’ve any questions about these or other Davis Library services, please feel free to… “Ask Us!
