Got Books?

Have books or any other library materials checked out?

With the Finals Week starting and Semester/Winter Break coming up soon, it’s time get those items renewed or returned.

Use the My Record link found on the Davis Library’s Website to view and manage your library account. Login requires that you enter your NAME (first and last); BARCODE (Student ID# with the letter “s” at its start—e.g., s300123456); and PIN (Personal Identification Number, which is set by default to the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number.)

View our video tutorial below for step-by-step directions:

Please Note: when using My Record to renew library materials, you may only select and submit items for renewal one at a time. To renew several items all at once, it’s often easier to “Ask Us!” to do it for you. Stop by the Circulation Desk; contact us by phone (1.800.282.7201, ext. 7005); or send us an email (refdesk@rio.edu.) We’d be happy to take care of that for you.

Needing to return books after hours?
Use the drop box located at the building's Main Entrace to get those items back to us.

Have any questions?
Remember, you may always... "Ask Us!"

Read-Out & Eat-Out @ Davis Library

Beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 1st the Friends of the Davis Library will host a special “Read-Out & Eat-Out” program in honor of Banned Books Week, an annual national celebration of the freedom to read.

This lunchtime activity is open to everyone on the University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College campus and will take place on the Davis Library’s Main Floor. Free refreshments will be provided (while they last!)

Anyone attending the event is welcome to share and read aloud excerpts from their favorite frequently banned or challenged books

"Keep Davis Library Dangerous" Banned Books Week Display
Founded in 1982, Banned Books Week stresses the significant role our First Amendment rights play in maintaining a free and open democratic society.  The primary focus of Banned Book Week campaigns are aimed at drawing attention to the dangers of censorship. Banned Books Week brings together the entire book community—librarians, booksellers, publishers, journalists, teachers, and readers of all types—in support of the freedom to seek and to express ideas, even those some consider unorthodox or unpopular.

Once again, everyone is invited to join the Friends of the Davis Library to read-out, eat-out, and commemorate the occasion. If you have any questions? Don’t hesitate to “Ask Us!
