Up Front and Ready for Week 2!

Yes… Week 1 down!  And, we’re ready for Week 2 of the Fall Semester here at the University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College.  

Now that everyone should be settled-in, we thought we’d start the academic year off with a whole new point of view.  

Last year, we posted photos taken from our 2^nd Floor windows one a week.  You can see a video review of those 2nd Floor views in our Friday, August 24, 2012 blog posting and on the Davis Library’s Facebook Page.  

This year, we’ve decided to be “up front” by posting weekly photos of the library’s main entrance.

So, are you ready?!   Get on your marks and let’s go have one great academic year!

It’s the end of a very busy first week of school.  Hope everyone is enjoying getting back to the books.  

We just want to remind you that the Davis Library will be open this coming weekend:

Saturday	1 – 5 PM
Sunday	5 – 9 PM

Okay, we really aren’t talking rain here… 

The 2012 Fall Semester begins Monday, August 20^th—welcome back students!

Beginning that date too Davis Library will resume its evening and weekend hours:

Mondays - Thursdays	8 AM – 10 PM
Fridays	8 AM – 5 PM
Saturdays	1 – 5 PM
Sundays	5 – 9 PM

We’re looking forward to another great academic year!  Hope the same goes for you!

Summer Session is Almost Over View

The Summer Session is coming to an end, so it’s time to start gearing up for a new term.

Need a job this coming fall semester?  “Work Study” eligible?  Davis Library wants you!  

We have student position openings for the 2012-2013 Academic Year. 

We’re looking for flexible individuals—available to work daytime, evening and weekend shifts.

Applications for ALL “Work Study” positions at the University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College are to be completed and submitted to the Human Resources (HR) Office, located in Allen Hall.

Not sure where that’s at?  It’s the building just opposite the Davis Library’s Main Entrance shown as #9 on the Campus Map found at:  http://www.rio.edu/campusmap/CampusMap.php#.

Once you’ve taken care of business at HR, they’ll give you a copy of the paperwork to bring here so we’ll know that you’re interested in working for us.

Last Week of the 4-Day Work Week View

Beginning Monday, August 6, 2012 the Davis Library and most campus offices at the University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College will go back to a 5-day work week schedule with operating hours from 8 AM - 5 PM, Mondays through Fridays.

With the Summer Session classes ending soon and the Fall 2012 term coming up fast, it’s time to start preparing for a new academic year.  So, allowing another day for people to come visit campus to take care of enrollment, bookstore or other preliminary business issues just makes sense.  

Classes begin Monday, August 20^th!

Once the semester gets underway, Davis Library will expand its hours to include both evenings and weekends.  Such Library Hours changes will be posted no later than Friday, August 17, 2012 on the Davis Library’s Front Entrance and Website (http://library.rio.edu/hours.html.)  This information is also available by calling 740-245-7395.  Details on any holiday or break closings are to be provided as well.
