Whole New (It's Friday the 13th!!!) View

It’s Friday the 13th!!! But, there’s no reason to be superstitious as it’s another three-day holiday weekend. Get ready to celebrate instead!

Monday, February 16th is Presidents’ Day (Washington’s Birthday). Originally established to commemorate our nation’s first president, this federal holiday takes place the third Monday in February and each year, Davis Library honors the occasion with special hours.

Davis Library will be…

  • CLOSED:  Saturday (2/14); Sunday (2/15) & throughout the day Monday (Presidents’ Day - 2/16)
  • OPEN:  5 – 10 PM Monday (Presidents’ Day - 2/16)

Also coming up this weekend is Valentine’s Day! This holiday, which pays tribute to both love and friendship every February 14th, has also become a favorite among library supporters wanting to share their passion for all things bibliotheca.

Consequently, the entire month of February is now proclaimed to be Library Lovers’ Month and our Friends of the Davis Library (Friends) group use this time of year to hold their annual spring activities planning meeting.

Not a Friends member? Not a problem. Our Friends meetings are open to anyone interested in enhancing the Davis Library’s commitment to outreach and public service.

So feel free to…

  • “Join Your Friends @ Davis Library” at 9 AM - Wednesday, February 18th on the Davis Library’s Top Floor in Room 208.

Once again, forget those broken mirrors and sidewalk cracks. It’s an extra-long weekend. Enjoy!

Then, if you've any questions about our hours, services or events, please...

Ask Us!”

Whole New (It’s Already Mid-February!) View

View of the Davis Library around 5:10 PM Tuesday 2.10.15

Wow! February has arrived and the 2014-2015 Spring Semester is well-underway.

So far this term, a lot of classes have been meeting with Davis Library’s Staff to learn more about the services and resources we offer to help make their academic experience at the University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College a success.

Students enrolled in "LA100 Gateway to Success" learn more about what Davis Library has to offer from Deb Thompson, Davis Library's Access Services Associate.

If your class isn’t scheduled for a visit or getting to the library in-person is difficult for you, don’t fret! Much of what we have to offer is available online.

Just use the Davis Library Website (www.rio.edu/library) to access the high-quality information needed to complete your research assignments.

Watch the video-tutorial below for more details on how to navigate our site and utilize its key features.
