The 2014 Fall Semester here at the University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College is winding down. Spring registration has begun, so the Davis Library is already in the process of gearing up for another round of incoming students who will be embarking on a new educational journey in January 2015.
To
help improve the first year experience for these undergraduates, Davis Library
is asking all students who completed “Comic-Quest,” our new student orientation
activity for the LA 100
Gateway to Success classes, to give us some feedback on
that exercise.
The
following survey link was
sent to first year students’ Rio
Grande email accounts. LA 100 Instructors
were also asked to share this survey link with their students. The link
has been made available here on our
blog and can be accessed through Davis Library’s Facebook
page.
If
you are currently enrolled in LA 100 and
completed the “Comic-Quest” exercise, please take a moment and complete the
survey. Your responses will be used to improve and create a new
orientation activity for the 2015 Spring Semester.
First Year Students—We Still Need
Your Feedback!
The
main goal of “Comic-Quest” was to offer students an enjoyable path to get
acquainted with the library’s services, resources and staff. For many
incoming students, college can be overwhelming and academic libraries
intimidating. University libraries offer some services and resources that
are typically not available in public or high school libraries.
Consequently, Davis Library wants to make sure that our efforts and
improvements to the exercise create an enjoyable learning opportunity for
students entering this new academic environment.
If
you have any questions about the survey or Davis Library’s new student
orientation objectives, then please… “Ask Us!”
