Homecoming
Weekend is here at the University of Rio Grande/Rio
Grande Community College and as you can see in the photo above the folks
from Allen Hall—not too far from Davis
Library—have been busy readying their float for this afternoon’s parade.

Since year’s Homecoming theme is “Decade of Dreams,”
which reflects both the institution’s long history and future plans, we’re also
featuring a few pictures from Davis Library’s early days. The building was dedicated January 16, 1966.
Rio Grande College itself was founded in 1876. During the 1970s the community college was
added and by the late 1980s the curriculum and campus was expanded to make the
school an officially accredited university.
