Whole New (Spring Has Sprung!) View

View of Davis Library around 2:45 PM Monday 3.30.15

Spring has sprung! In a few short weeks, another term will be over and done here at the University of Rio Grande/Rio Grande Community College.

For graduating seniors, this end marks a new beginning. Questions of “What’s next?” are on the rise and for many, the need to “Get a job!” is fast becoming a reality.

Of course, it’s not only those individuals who’ll be donning caps and gowns soon that have thoughts focused on their future employment status. Students at all levels are now in the market for summer work and/or internship opportunities.

To help all of these aspiring breadwinners, the university hosts the Annual Rio Career Fair each spring on the institution’s Main Campus. This year’s event takes place on Tuesday, March 31st from 1-3 PM in Bob Evans Farms Hall. And as always, it’s free and open to Rio Grande alumni and members of the general public as well.

Sponsored by New Student Advising Office, Testing and Career Services department, and offices of Adult Recruitment and Workforce Development, over thirty prospective employers are expected to be on hand to meet with potential job candidates.

Davis Library offers job-seekers wanting to prepare for this event or other career development activities a variety of resources to advise and direct them through the process of getting hired. Much of this information is outlined on our Job and Career Resources LibGuide, a special research guide that details what’s available both in-house and online to help found at: http://libguides.rio.edu/jobandcareer

Then, while Davis Library’s print collections may be limited as far as job and career-related materials go, the latest electronic book (eBook) publications on such topics are easily accessible by searching RioCat, Davis Library’s Catalog. Remember, login to OhioLINK services is required when utilizing these types of resources from off campus.
